Lynn Manning; on his work & in his passing

"In the Absence of Light" is the final play that Lynn worked on before he passed away earlier this year due to complications with cancer.  The rising artistic director, Bruce Lemon, a man among my closest of friends, brought me in on this production as a part of the 2nd Annual Leimert Park Theatre Festival.

Watts Village Theatre Company also won an award from the Sheri & Les Biller Family Foundation at the 2015 LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards, for our production of "It's A Krip Hop Nation"  Bruce received the award just prior to a moment of silence in appreciation of all the work that Lynn Manning brought to his theatre, his neighborhood, & his differently-abled communities.  The Foundation grant inspires powerful collective action in the pursuit of career development, education, theatre enrichment, & community support.  We at Watt's Village & myself, as a member of the cast of "It's A Krip Hop Nation" & other WVTC productions, are grateful for the fiscal support to continue giving back to our community.
